Biography

Born in Venezuela, Vladimir Prado began his musical education in Venezuela with Marisa Romera and Juan Francisco Sans. He worked regularly with El Sistema in Venezuela founded by Maestro José Antonio Abreu. At the age of 20, Vladimir moved to Vienna where he joined the University for Music and Perfoming Arts. Alongside obtaining his Master of Arts in Orchestral and Choir Conducting, Vladimir studied musicology finishing with a Doctorate on "The Four Voices Madrigals by Philippe de Monte".

Whilst studying he founded and conducted the Ensemble „Florilegivm Mvsicvm Vienna", an innovative group, which introduced works of the most important composers of the 20th and 21st century and new pieces of young composers.

During this time Vladimir has been the Choirmaster-Assistant of the Arnold Schoenberg Choir for the production of W.A. Mozart's "The Magic Flute" in Modena-Italy, (Conductor: Claudio Abbado) and W.A. Mozart's "Cosi Fan Tutte", (Conductor: Daniel Harding) at the Theater an der Wien.

Taking part in the Lucerne Festival Academy with Peter Eötvös, Vladimir conducted "Orchestra One" of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s GRUPPEN. Subsequently, he was invited to be the musical assistant and "Klangregisseur" of the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien production of Stockhausen's GRUPPEN at Wien Modern.

Further guest conducting took him to orchestras like the Simón Bolívar Orchestra (Venezuela), Helsingborg Symfoniorchester (Sweden), Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro (Brasil), Orquestra Sinfônica Heliópolis (Brasil), Orquestra Sinfônica de Barra Mansa (Brasil), Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela and the Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas (Venezuela) and many more.
